Expedition Section

Important things you need to know

 
To complete the expedition section you must:

 

bulletattend all the training sessions
bulletcomplete the expedition task sheet (see below)
bulletdo practice tramp
bulletcomplete the required expedition
bulletwrite about your trips in your log book

 

For bronze level, the classroom training will cover:

- Using a map and compass

- Outdoor first aid

- Clothing and equipment

- trip planning

- Leadership

 

Expedition Task Sheet

There are expedition tasks for each level - bronze, silver & gold. 

The task is designed to get you thinking about how to prepare for and keep safe in the outdoors.  Too many people each year in New Zealand are killed or injured in back country environments.  YNZC@HVHS aims to make sure that you don't become a statistic.

These tasks are not available to download.  Contact Mr Wallace when you are ready to begin and he will email them to you.
